Helpful Hints for Preventing Injury and Maximizing Work-out Safety and Effectiveness
• Hire a Personal Trainer
• Warm up before working-out
• Stretch lightly before working-out
• Use proper form and technique when working-out
• Save more rigorous stretching for during/after your work-out (when your muscles are fully warmed-up)
• Use proper breathing techniques
• Use a “spotter” when weight-lifting
• Use collars to secure plates on bar when weight-lifting
• Keep long hair tied back (out of reach of machines’ pulleys, wheels and cables)
• Wear safe clothing and footwear (e.g. no sandals or open-toed shoes)
